I am well known for hurting myself every time I drink alcohol.

666 the best heavy metal number there is!

How did you first discover roller derby / what convinced you to join?
I used to watch American roller derby on a random sports channel in the middle of the night then I saw on MySpace that a friend of a friend (Method Mam, then Sicily Suplex) was looking for a roller derby team in Newcastle, the closest team back then was MMR and that was just a bit far to travel. I got in touch and went along with my rollerskates, the beginnings of the wonderful NRG.

What have you learned from roller derby?
I’ve learned that although I’m terrible at sports I have found something I can stick with and that I absolutely love playing on wheelie boots.

Calm, happy, bright.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to get involved with their local team?
Do it! You can be involved as much or as little as you want to be, the encouragement and teaminess and friendship you find might just change your life.
