First intra league game was Christmas 2010 ‘Jingle Belter’ the most fun you can have in an elf costume. First proper bout was January 2011, totally hooked, never looked back…..

You can’t ask that!! Impossible to say, love you all for different reasons!

Bonnie De Stroir for her wisdom, closely followed by ReAnimatHer for an awesome track presence!
- What is your proudest derby moment?
Being named ‘best blocker’ in my first ever bout, a totally unexpected pleasure!
- What is your most embarrassing derby moment?

Hello and welcome to the website for the Newcastle Roller Girls.
We’re the largest league in the North East of England, made up of the Canny Belters, Whippin Hinnies and our mens team – Tyne and Fear.
The league began in 2009, we played our first bout in Edinburgh in April 2010, and we haven’t looked back since.
We skate four nights a week, host home bouts in the Lightfoot Centre in Walker, and travel up and down the UK taking on anyone who’ll have us.

Each and every skater with NRG is different. We all come from different backgrounds, have different jobs, and different strengths. But together we make up the most successful roller derby team in the north east. We value each and every skater and you can find our more about our kick ass members here!
We have our A travel team the Canny Belters and all of our up and coming skaters to watch, play for the Whippin Hinnies. Pretty soon we’re going to need a C team, watch this space!
