NRG Co-Captains 2015!

NRG are thrilled to announce their shiny new co-captains for their 2015 season. Well one shiny brand new, and one not so (sorry Penny!)

Sly will join Penny Bizarre (Antonia Lister) one of last year’s co-captains, at the helm to lead NRG to glory!

Sly said: “I’m really honoured to be co-captain, alongside Penny Bizarre especially in what’s shaping up to be an exciting year. I can’t wait to play in the British Champs with the Belters, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the Champs can shape the derby landscape here in the UK. I hope to see greater recognition for the sport, growth of the teams involved, new teams evolving, and a bigger fan base. Here at NRG, we’re starting the year which a plethora of talented skaters and hopefully our full roster, so the rest of Tier 2 North better watch out! And the Hinnies, who had a fantastic year in 2014, are looking super strong. No doubt they will continue to show that they are one of the best B teams around. 2015 is going to be my second year with NRG, and if it’s half as fun, challenging and competitive as last year, then I’ll certainly not be complaining.”

Joining Sly, will be one of the team’s co-captains from a very successful 2014 season for NRG, Penny Bizarre. Penny added: I’ve been skating with Newcastle Roller Girls for around four years now, and throughout that time we’ve had some pretty amazing women at the helm. It won’t be easy to fill their shoes (or skates!), but I’m proud and honoured to have been given the opportunity to build on everything Lone Danger and I achieved last year! We have big plans for 2015, and I’m so excited to tackle them with the help of Sly – who I know will be awesome. Bring on the British Championships and everything else this year has to throw at us! We’re totally ready for it.”
